Hot Tubs Terms & Conditions

Hot Tub Hire – Terms & Conditions of Use

Reigate Hot Tubs is fully insured and holds full public liability cover.

1. Your Responsibilities

  • Reigate Hot Tubs accepts no responsibility for any damage, injury, or death resulting from misuse of the hot tub or accessories.
  • We are not liable for any damage to your property, including lawns, patios, decking, or water damage of any kind. You are responsible for ensuring the setup area is suitable and safe.
  • Always keep the spa cover securely fastened when not in use to prevent unauthorised access, especially by children.
  • As the hirer, you are responsible for the care and safekeeping of the hot tub and all accessories. Any theft, loss, or damage must be paid for. Failure to do so may result in a claim being pursued through the small claims court.
  • A £50 cleaning charge will apply if excessive cleaning is required due to stains, contamination, or misuse.
  • The hot tub must be placed on a level surface, within 7 metres of a power outlet, and close to a suitable water source. All hot tubs must be plugged into an outdoor socket only.
  • We will provide a demonstration on delivery. For hires longer than one night, it is the hirer’s responsibility to correctly maintain and look after the hot tub as instructed.
  • We will show you how to maintain the water. If instructions are not followed and the water becomes dirty, foamy, or causes the heater pump to clog or cut out, we cannot be held responsible for malfunction or downtime.

2. Cancellations, Refunds & Rescheduling

  • Bookings may be postponed free of charge with at least 72 hours’ notice. A credit voucher will be issued for the full value of your original booking.
  • Cancellations will be refunded minus a 20% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of your booking will also incur a 20% cancellation fee.

3. Speed of Use

  • To speed up heating, it may be possible to fill the tub with warm water from your hot tap (subject to adaptor availability and suitability of your plumbing).
  • Please note: Larger tubs may take up to 30 hours to fully heat during colder months. We recommend planning your hire with this in mind so your tub is ready at the perfect temperature when you want to use it.

4. Chemicals & Filters

  • Add chlorine and a clean filter once a day, even if the hot tub is not in use.
  • A water testing kit will be supplied for hires over 4 days (or upon request).
  • Essential water care rules:
    • Shower before entering the hot tub.
    • Do not enter wearing makeup, sun creams, fake tan, or body creams — these contaminate the water and cause foaming.
    • Only use chemicals provided by Reigate Hot Tubs.
    • If the water turns green, cloudy, or smells unpleasant, stop using the hot tub and contact us immediately.
  • We clean all hot tubs using antibacterial spray and a hot tub flush. Reigate Hot Tubs is not responsible for adverse skin reactions caused by misuse of chemicals or poor water hygiene.

5. Our Right of Access

Reigate Hot Tubs may enter your premises at the agreed date and time for delivery, setup, maintenance, or collection.

6. Our Responsibilities

  • If the hot tub breaks down, we will attempt to resolve the issue promptly.
  • If the issue cannot be resolved, you will be reimbursed for the days the hot tub was unusable.
  • We will always provide safe, clean, fully functioning equipment at the start of your hire.

7. Health & Safety

  • Limit time in the hot tub. Prolonged exposure to warm water can cause dizziness, nausea, fainting, or reduced awareness, which may result in drowning.
  • Consult your doctor before use if you suffer from heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure issues, epilepsy, or other medical conditions.
  • Do not use the hot tub if you are:
    • Pregnant
    • Under 5 years old (children must always be supervised)
    • Suffering from an infectious disease
    • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Water temperature must not exceed 104°F (40°C). Safe use for healthy adults is 20 minutes at 100–104°F. Lower temperatures are recommended for children.
  • Maximum bathers: 4 adults (small tub), 7 adults (large tub).

8. Safety Rules

  • No electrical objects near the hot tub.
  • No glassware — use plastic or paper cups only.
  • No diving, jumping, or sitting on the sides, cover, or motor.
  • Do not turn off the hot tub during your hire.
  • Do not move or empty the hot tub once filled.
  • Do not remove suction fitting covers (risk of injury).
  • No smoking or open flames near the hot tub.
  • If the water turns green or smells unpleasant, contact us immediately for replacement or advice.
